Wendy's Frostys are classic and cheap can't go wrong with either flavor. Not bad, just not something special. It's not bad by any means, but falls short in terms of being a bit overly rich. I agree that it's a taste vs value conversation. Neopolitan at In-N-Out — mostly for the nostalgia factor. Plus they use a good soft, sweeter, bun so I'm sold.
Best flavors: banana, banana cream pie, coconut cream pie, Oreo cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake (you really can't go wrong with any of them though). The Smoke Shack is a great tasting burger- although a little pricy. It wasn't bad just not something I'd go get when I can do a quick fry at home. which puts them around a Five Guys / Farm Burger (B+) for my tastes. Quality milkshakes isn't over sweet or a have a weird texture. Then again they taste like the ones I make at home. Chikfila - For me comes in at 2nd.

Among the more regional chains we have in my city, I'd probably rank them as: THe burgers I had at Shake Shack were probably the most expensive out of all of them, but damn they were good. To me, it's like 10% better. They aren't bad, especially considering the price ($1-$1.50). The hotdogs were also good albeit nothing to write home about, neither were the fries but that cheese sauce was great. Steak N Shake: 7/10. Five Guys. Del Taco does have an awesome shake. Certainly better than I can craft at home! Plus, they have a HUGE variety, and often times have great deals.

Once again, glowing reviews of a franchise that doesn't even have a location within 400 miles of me. Slight difference from Sonic in terms of style of shake, but up there in terms of quality. I love Shake Shack. And tasted bitter. Just to round it out McDonalds/Burger King/Wendy's land at C- for their burgers...I could push Wendy's burgers to a C but their fries are so tasteless I just hold them back out of spite.

Not badly priced either! Got bored with the flavor after a while. $20 for a burger, fries and and a coke is too much. One of the pricier options on the list, unfortunately. Plus, their summertime 1/2 price after 8pm is great.
If you need a caffeine fix while still trying to be healthy, getting the coffee milkshake is your best option. Their plain cheesecake is my weakness. But 5 Guys is also a lot cheaper with bigger burgers. It wasn't worth the price though. Only been to Carl Jr's, not bad. Maybe my home ones are a little better. awesome post!
I give them an edge over Five Guys but I may have to do a side by side to know for sure. The sandwiches are kind of small, not a great value. Bonus points if you include the best flavor. I need to get some more and really give it a consideration. Certainly better than I've done at home so that's a win. Now I live a 20 minute drive to the only one in the state and I never make it there. More of a regional chain, but I was surprised how good of shake these guys make, considering their style of cuisine (though I guess they have burgers and fries too). Pretty sure they put opium in the cheese to keep you coming back. It was juicy and tender and the coating had a crunch but it wasn't terribly aggressive in any of the flavors. When it's made right, it has a near perfect mixture of syrup so as to not overpower any of the milk/ice cream flavor, but rather accentuates them. I think Steak & Shake has awful milkshakes.
The chicken sandwich was no better than I can make at home. I drop Five Guys because the burgers are solid but the price is high too. Tomorrow their shakes are half-price all day, plus through the next few months they're half-price after 8 PM every day. 2 years ago. Sonic, I've never had their shakes, but their slushes are really good. Sometimes doesn't quite scratch that itch for a classic chocolate shake. Slightly better than McDonalds, but often comes with a lot of the same problems. And those look like run-of-the-mill frozen crinkle fries.
